So a few weeks have passed since my last post as I, yet again, have found myself being rushed-off-my-feet-busy which is great. I spent a week at 'Crossroadz' Christian Camp which at first I was a little skeptical about one because I didn't really know anyone there and two, I had no idea what to expect. But it was actually lots of fun and I met SO many new amazing people from all over Denmark so it was a good week. It was also nice to see young people with such a strong sense of faith, sometimes even I question my generation but these people were just so passionate, I really respected and admired them for that. I had about half the amount of sleep you should normally get in a week so even now I am still recovering. They had this activity called a nightrun, directly translated which means the leaders wake you up at 1am and you are dropped in a forest and attacked pretty much. Did I know what was happening, nej not so much. But people assured me it was normal so I just went with it. And then another night we played volleyball and football at 3am which was fun, but naturally the football skills here are a lot higher than that in NZ so they were running circles around me.
I have no photos of camp sadly as I just forgot (silly I know) but I can try find some from someone else later. But it was a good week and meet so many cool people, maybe i can return next year?
So now I am being lazy and this blog becomes a photo blog with some captions, enjoy!
The other week, my Rotary councillor was such a sweetie and invited me to come to Copenhagen with her for a few days! She works there every week and thought it would be nice if I could tag along and see more of the city. I had a day free while she was working so I invited my friend Simon who was on exchange in Wellington not too long ago to join me for the day. So I was really excited as we went to the Danish Design Centre aka my dream. There was an exhibition on called 'Denmark by Design' perfect? Indeed it was.
Then we were wondering what to do with the rest of the gorgeous sunny day....Tivoli was right across the road, hey why not? Grab every chance you're given I say. So with entry at 300kr, it was a bit steep but it was a great investment in my happiness.
Me and the amazing view
I was also lucky enough to be able to go to the Louisiana Modern Art Museum about an hour north of Copenhagen. It was amazing, a 1950's building crammed full of weird and wonderful art. A great view as well, we could even see Sweden!
Warhol after Munch, great exhibition.
Dinner at Louisiana, yep that's Sweden you see in the distance.
Triiippy art!
Rebel, it clearly said 'do not climb the sculpture', so what did I do?
View of Christiania from my hotel room :)
øresund link to Sweden.
Me + Ikea = a perfect combination.
It was such a nice few days away and I LOVE how I can say I have been to Sweden now! Life is complete. Tusind tak Gunhild :)
So the other day we went on a little family excursion to southern Fyn which was so much fun. We went to a castle called Valdemars Slot which is in fact still lived in by its owners which i found quite interesting.
The Danish Queen sleeps here on her visits, not too bad.
A day in Fredericia with my amazing awesome and filthy friends Ellie (here), Michy, Catherine and Kristy-Lee.
Love you girlie :)
On Wednesday the 28th, it was the day for the inner child (or is that outer?) to come out for BONBON LAND BABY! A theme park in Naestved, Sjaelland which is full of candy and fun rides. I went with my crazy friends from school, Elisabeth, Kim and Maksim. It was like 3 hours by train so when we arrived we where exhausted but had a fun day in the sun and along with about 10 million families with small children, yay.
The prawn ride haha
